Now I see why everyone was so underwhelmed by the Hungarian offering while I was extatic myself. They had turned "Szívverés" into a ballad - not a bad one, but far too soft and traditional to have any impact.
It just makes my mind go back to 1993, and the Hungarian entry that failed to qualify for Millstreet. Also a good ballad, but also too anonymous to carry all the way.
Don't go down the "Árva reggel"-road, please Hungary! Bring the beat back! Turn the song back into a pop song again. We desperately need it.
