I believe that besides the 1991 edition, RAI never even broadcast the Contest live (always pre-recorded and summarized) and not many Italians (including myself) knew what it was.
Anyway, San Marino TV can be seen in part (a small part) of the Italian territory (unfortunately they do not have a satellite channel) and if some well known Italian singer will represent San Marino, Italians might become interested in the show again...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8710333055744639905.post-92037030731788181942008-01-20T14:26:00.000+01:002008-01-20T14:26:00.000+01:00If RAI thinks there are too many eastern countries...If RAI thinks there are too many eastern countries taking part, then the only sensible thing is to take part themselves and level it out, right? :)
Good thing that you are coming in here to throw an eye every once in a while. I think I managed to get you quite smitten by Eurovision back then in 1998, right? :)
But did I get it wrong here? Is Paolo more of a star than I thought? I meant micro) country of San Marino participating for the first time in the contest. Which is quite ironic not just because San Marino is entirely surrounded by Italian territory but also because 50% of San Marino TV is owned by mamma RAI.
So maybe next year we'll have the other 50% finally realize that it's time for Italy too to go back.
Unless in the meanwhile more countries will decide that the Contest has become too much of an "eastern Europe thing"...
Bisous to both of you...
AAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8710333055744639905.post-2858024458763541022008-01-19T17:32:00.000+01:002008-01-19T17:32:00.000+01:00Why wouldn't it work?
